Anul acesta cireșele / This year the cherries

Nu-i mai cer acestei lumi decât liniștea.
O fărâmă de cer.
Ceva care să ne facă mai buni,
să ne redea curajul
din toate romanele adolescenților miopi
și anul acesta cireșele.
Nu-i mai cer acestei lumi
decât dreptul de-a fi eu însămi
și de a ști că și aproapele poate fi la fel.

All I ask of this world is peace.
A piece of heaven.
Something to make us better,
to give us back the courage
from all the short-sighted teenage novels
and this year the cherries.
All I ask of this world is the right to be myself
and to know that my neighbor can be the same.
